Crescendo (55plus)

Every person at Countryside who is 55 plus, growing in their relationship with Jesus Christ and engaged in His kingdom ministry.

Daily 10,000 people reach the age of 65.  By 2030, one in five Americans will be over 65, by 2035 there will be more people over 65 than under the age of 18!  The Baby boomer and older generations are to be mobilized for ministry! Rather than retirement, we seek to re-tool, re-invent, and re-imagine what God may have for us in this season of life as we are challenged to participate in minstries by, with, and for older adults.

Our goals
To grow Spiritually, Physically, Intellectually, Emotionally, in Community, while Serving God and others.

Crescendo is not a program; it's a mindset.  It's not an activity; it's an attitude. Each month Crescendo will offer opportunities for older adults to grow in all of these areas as they walk with Jesus and build His kingdom in this fruitful season of life.

Mystery Arboretum Tour
Sun. Sept. 24 Meet at church parking lot at 4:30

Carpool/van ride to a private arboretum tucked away in plain site in the heart of McPherson. We’ll be treated to a conversation with a local arborist whose passion is for the 60 different trees planted all around his property! Tour the landscape and his private garden, then enjoy Q n A over a light sandwich supper ($3 donation). Wood working enthusiasts will enjoy discussion inside his large woodshop. Reservations required for food and so we don’t leave without you. (620)241-4499. Elementary through High school students and their families are welcome also! Everyone bring your own lawn chair!

Trunk or Treat
Crescendo Cars Crash All Church Event!

Our entire church will serve the younger Mac community on Oct. 31 from 6-7pm as we provide a simple family-friendly candy give-away. Decorate your car or an inside doorway in the church hallway with a Bible theme. Prize for best Crescendo participant. Tell Lynn Black if you need a group to partner with.

Widows Connection
First Tuesdays at 9:30am at the Cedars Wellness Center

Whether recently widowed or experienced in the journey, find connection, empathy, and hope as you meet with other women in this season of life. We also sponsor outings on the third Saturday of the month. Contact Judy Blaine or Lynn Black through the church office for more information.
